Application Developer

The successful candidate will have a solid work ethic, be capable of independent work with minimal direction, have a logical & analytical mind, and possess excellent verbal communication skills -- both in speaking and  in listening.  Some laboratory experience in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries would useful.

Java Developer

GraphLogic, a software company located on the Connecticut shoreline, seeks to hire an experienced computer scientist and will interview strong, self-motivated developers who desire the opportunity to work on our novel, multi-patented, cutting edge technology. The successful hire will work in a fast paced environment and must be able to adapt quickly to a very dynamic workday. Skills critical to success in this position include the ability to work independently as well as with a small team. The position also requires contact and interaction with scientists and developers from world class research institutions.

The successful candidate will be required to spearhead software projects through the full product lifecycle, from requirements gathering through installation to long term maintenance and support, while also adapting to the demands of the continually evolving technology landscape. The candidate must be capable of working on long term goals and projects while also addressing and solving day to day client needs as they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain core architecture. Add new features to our novel PointDragon integrated development and run time environment. Modify and refine the existing functionality.

  • Refine and optimize the technology to improve performance and memory usage.

  • Enhance the core architecture for use in a distributed, fault tolerant environment.

  • Work with clients to build custom applications. Assist domain expert end users with the design and implementation of their solutions.

  • Refine and enhance the existing user interface to produce a more modern, sleek look and feel.

Required Skills:

  • You absolutely must be an expert in all facets of Java programming

  • Strong problem solving skills and the desire to create new and truly innovative software

  • Knowledge of Struts, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Ajax, Linux.

  • Experience with relational databases

  • Experience with, or strong desire to learn about cloud computing

Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science.

You must have at least two years’ Java programming experience. You must also be legally qualified and able to work in the United States for at least two years to be considered for this position.
