PointDragon™ Training for Developers
GraphLogic offers a complete training course for customers who wish to gain a better understanding of how applications are developed using our PointDragon integrated development environment. The five day course introduces developers to commonly used tools and techniques employed in PointDragon application development. During the training courses, customers are guided through structured informational sessions, after which they work independently with the PointDragon IDE, gaining feedback from experienced PointDragon developers on their progress. All training sessions are led by experienced GraphLogic technical staff and are conducted at our Branford, Connecticut offices. Arrangements can be made to conduct PointDragon training at a client's site, or elsewhere.
Hands on, Personal, Effective
Training for PointDragon application development focuses on all aspects of the PointDragon development process pertinent to the design, creation, and maintenance of highly effective and streamlined systems. The course begins with an overview of several high level paradigm oriented topics: Visual programming versus traditional coding, working with functional components, debugging, and the PointDragon workflow framework. Guided by expert PointDragon developers, trainees delve into the finer skills required to build applications in a hands-on environment. The full range of functionality within the PointDragon platform is reviewed so that trainees have the tools to build, enhance, integrate, and maintain applications in the future.
PointDragon training is held at GraphLogic's Branford, Connecticut, offices in the northeastern United States. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate large training groups at off-site locations.

Introduction
- Terminology and PointDragon paradigm overview. Trainee course materials and manuals provided.
Session 1
- Introduction to the PointDragon Editor, Overview of the Application Interface, Account Creation.
Session 2
- Techniques for executing common database related tasks. Introduction to common data types, actions, and debugging methods.
Session 3
- Techniques necessary for validating user entry. Function Calls, sophisticated data types, wizards, intermediate level properties, and a methodology for developing a well-designed PointDragon application.
Session 4
- Advanced techniques for controlling the appearance of an application, developing business rules, managing application design, multiple inheritance.
Session 5
- Access Control: Overview of built-in user management interface as well as self-generated interfaces to achieve increasing levels of system access control. Automated email notification setup.
Session 6
- Demonstrate query and reporting functionality, Exporting Data to a variety of file formats, parsing files, integrating with external databases and third party tools. Creating charts on-the-fly.
Tailored Workshop
- Address custom application design, solutions for your business, hands-on work. Professional developers consult on how best to streamline your business software operations and integrate data sensibly. Work closely with professional IT and Developers to review current application design and answer questions.
